Our Story

Welcome to the Original Smoke & Spice Company. My name is Elisha. After the big Christchurch NZ earthquake, I returned to Australia to create this company in 2011. Bringing my family’s smoked salt seasoning from New Zealand to Australia had always been a plan. Growing up in New Zealand, Smoking local produce and barbecuing seafood was a big part of normal cooking life, especially during fishing trips in the beautiful kiwi wilderness. We are committed to continuing this family tradition here in Australia by sourcing the best ingredients to cold smoke by hand over beechwood and bay leaves, creating a range of down-to-earth gourmet food products.

My husband Onur brings a wealth of knowledge and Turkish heritage to our business. Together, we look forward to meeting you at your local farmer’s markets, as well as food and wine events across NSW and further afield.
